A New Hypothesis: Fonagy hypothesized that RF, the ability to reflect on one's own, and other's, actions in terms of mental states (e.g., intentions, feelings, desires, beliefs), may help guide the transmission process. Specifically, parents high in RF should be more likely to have secure infants as a reflective caregiver should respond more accurately to the infant's needs, effectively regulate their affect, and guide the child's development of self.
Main Goal of the Current Study: To investigate whether RF has a significant impact on infant security by influencing maternal sensitivity.
