Supplementary Video

Supplemental Video 1: Shared Gaze

In this clip, partners search for the target in the Shared Gaze only (SG) Condition.  Note that in this condition, each partner can see where the other is looking in real time, as represented by an open yellow circle signifying the other person’s fixation.  Here, we show both eyegaze cursors (during the experiment, each searcher saw only the other’s cursor, not their own.)

Supplemental Video 2: Shared Voice

In this clip, partners search for the target in the Shared Voice (SV) Condition.  Note that in this condition, partners can speak to each other, but cannot see where each other is looking. This demo clip displays the speaker’s gaze cursor (which was not visible during the experiment). In the transcript, the start of the trial is marked with *; the end is marked with ^.

Supplemental Video 3: Shared Gaze + Voice

In this clip, partners search for the target in the Shared Gaze and Voice (SG+V) Condition.  Note that each can see where their partner is looking in real time as represented by an open yellow circle, and at the same time they can speak to one another. In the transcript, the start of the trial is marked with *; the end is marked with ^.  Here, we show both eyegaze cursors (during the experiment, each saw only the other’s cursor).
