Q: What is the minimum GPA for applying to the program?
A:
The minimum GPA is 3.25. However, the average GPA for students admitted into our program is 3.7.

Q: Do I have to be a full time student?
A:
Yes. Because completion of the program is contingent on completing 30 credits in one year, students must be registered full time to meet program requirements.

Q: Is the GRE required for admission?
A:
No, the GRE general test is optional. If you wish to send in your GRE scores, please use the institution code
2548.

Q: I am an international student attending a college or university in the United States. Do I have to take the TOEFL?
A:
Yes, all applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the TOEFL.

Q: Where do my recommenders send their letters of recommendation if they did not submit on-line?

Q: Can I apply to the program if I don't graduate until August?
A:
No, all applicants must have their undergraduate degree conferred by June.

Q:  How and when do I apply?

A: Applications are accepted January 15th through February 28th.  You will not be able to submit your application to our MA Program prior to that date.  To complete the application, go to the Graduate School APPLY YOURSELF website.  The online process is easy and you can fill out the application over several sessions. The application fee of $100 must be paid online with a credit card.

Note that we require separate applications for the Ph.D. and the 1-Year Masters Programs. If you applied to our Ph.D. program and would like to be considered for this one as well, you will need to complete a second application.

Q: What should I include in my Personal Statement?
A:
Include a description of your interests and research experience as well as your reasons for applying.

Q: How are students notified about admission or rejection?
A:
Students will be notified of offers of admission by April 15.
