My research interests:

Children’s attributions for the behavior of other children (including judgments of others’ intentions)

How children’s accuracy for judging others’ intentions changes with development

The relation between children’s attributions for others’ behavior and their behavioral responses

Dissertation:

“Children’s Development in Identifying the Intentions of Others:  The Influence of Social Cues and Outcome Severity.”

*  Explores how children’s judgments of others’ intentions differ between ages 4 and 7.

*  Compares age differences for judgments of intent when children can use verbal reaction cues to judge intent (e.g. ‘Oops!’ or ‘Ha ha!’) or gaze cues to judge intent (e.g. if another child is looking at what they are doing, or not looking)

*  Compares age differences for judgments of intent when the negative action for which the intent is being judged is relatively severe in nature or relatively minor.
