“Translational research in the behavioral and social sciences addresses how basic behavioral processes inform the diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and delivery of services for mental illness, and, conversely, how knowledge of mental illness increases our understanding of basic behavioral processes.”

  • EVI-D100 Cameras [5]

These are very small, quiet cameras that have pan, tilt, and zoom, and create an amazingly bright and crisp picture under standard office circumstances.

  • PXD310E- Camera Comparison Controller [3]

This box creates the split screen image, so we can view images on 2 cameras side by side.

  • SONY RM-BR300

Our control room is located adjacent to our two video studios. This remote unit allows us to control the pan, tilt and zoom on all 5 cameras.

  • Matrox RT.X100 Xtreme Pro Suite [2]

This capture card digitizes the incoming video and records it to the computer at a very high quality. The capture card comes bundled with software that allows us to edit the videos and also record to DVD.

  • Precision Workstation 670 [2]

Video is captured directly onto the hard-drives of these workstations. These workstations also include DVD burners, which are used to burn copies of all the videos. We use DVDs for coding purposes because they are more perminant and take up less space then video tapes.

  • AKG Acoustics CHM21 Microphone [2]

One of the biggest problems our coders have is poor sound quality. These condensor, hanging mics produce excellent sound quality, even at low volume levels. Another advantage to these, because they hang from the ceiling, they are unobtrusive.

  • MAudio MobilePre USB Interface with Microphone Preamp

The preamp provides power to the microphones. It also provides an easy interface between the mics and the computer.
