Are you thinking about grad school?
What about a career in psychology, social work, or other health profession? Then don't miss the opportunity to work in a research lab before you graduate. In our lab you will get the opportunity to work with couples and kids. You may even learn how to conduct observational coding and recruit participants. You will have the chance to learn graduate level writing skills and receive expert advice from our staff of psychologists, social workers, and research staff on the "how, what, when and why?" of career and graduate school planning.
Over the past couple of years we have collected a lot of data from a lot of families, and it's time to start processing this data! During the upcoming semester there are going to be many opportunities to learn our various observational coding systems. Ever wonder how couples communicate behind closed doors? Want to see how a parent handles a difficult child? Maybe watching kids interviewed by puppets is more your speed. If any of these sound interesting to you being trained as an observational coder could be right up your alley.
In the FTRG we have a motto "What you put into it, is what you get out of it". This is your chance to put in a little hard work, consider it an investment in your future, and get out of it an experience that will make you a stronger school or job applicant. If you are interested in applying or just learning more about who we are and what we offer check out our research opportunities page or just stop by Rm 142 in the Psychology A and ask for Gina. don't let this opportunity disappear, apply now.
