Jamie Kissee, B.A.

Hi! I am new to the Family Translational Research Group as of August 2009. I made the big move across country from being the born and raised Californian to a now New Yorker. I graduated from Pepperdine University in May ’09 with a B.A. in Psychology. I spent my time at Pepperdine competing on their swim team, studying in such places as Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, and Ecuador, and interning at the CLARE Foundation Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center and Fox Film Entertainment - Human Resources. I conducted the Psi Chi Regional Award winning research study called “An Analysis of Child Maltreatment Content in Introductory Psychology Textbooks” under the supervision of Dr. Miller-Perrin, who introduced me to the areas of domestic violence and child maltreatment, sparking a lasting interest. The great guidance from my undergraduate years has led me here to this extraordinary lab to spread my wings in the field of research in domestic violence. I am blessed to be a part of this research team and am excited to study this area further.

In my free time I like to be outside running, swimming and surfing (when back in California!). I have two amazing sisters, three dogs and an old grey cat whom I love!
